The John J. Murphy Professional Building is a multi-purpose academic facility for the School of Business and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Construction of the John J. Murphy Professional Building began in 1980 and was originally called the John W. Mecom Sr. Academic Center. It was later renamed the John J. Murphy Professional Building.
